AHC30816 Certificate III in Arboriculture

The AHC30816 Certificate III in Arboriculture provides a general vocational outcome in arboriculture. The arboriculture industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level.

ArbTrack Pre-Requisites:
  • Candidates are encouraged to hold at least twelve months experience in the industry
  • Must be currently employed in the industry
  • Must hold current HLTAID003 Provide first aid or equivalent.
  • Most hold CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, or CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry (White Card) or equivalent.

AHCARB302 Inspect trees for access and work
AHCARB303 Perform pruning operations
AHCARB311 Tie, dress, set and finish arborist knots
AHCARB313 Identify trees
AHCWRK305 Coordinate worksite activities
FWPCOT2237 Maintain chainsaws
FWPCOT2239 Trim and cut felled trees
FWPFGM3212 Fall trees manually (intermediate)
FWPCOT3238 Operate a pole saw
HLTAID003 Provide first aid
BSBWOR204 Use business technology
TLID1001 Shift materials safely using manual handling methods
UETTDREL14 Working safely near live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker
Available Streams: EWP stream

ArbTrack Entry Requirements: Learners must be able bodied and must have full use of all limbs. Learners must have good hearing, or wear a hearing aid device to allow them to easily communicate with other personnel. Learners must have good vision, and if corrected vision then they must wear their prescription glasses/contact lenses to the course, including using prescription safety glasses for works operation. Learners must be in a fit state for work. Learners must understand and speak the English language fluently.
Duration: 18 months for new entrants. Recognition of prior learning is offered to all candidates, which may significantly reduce the time taken to complete the qualification.
Ratio: Ratio will be different per unit of competency, but averages at 10 to 1.
Cost: Cost will depend on which stream is done. Please contact the office for an accurate quote.
Assessment: Written, practical demonstration and verbal assessments.
Expiry: The current status of the qualification can be viewed at TGA
What to Bring: Candidates will need to bring their own personal protective equipment which will be discussed during the first lesson.
